1. Therapy Intensiveness
• Therapist to residents ratio: 1 to 2
• Individual Therapy: 4 hours weekly
• EMDR: when needed for trauma
• Family Week: 35-40 hours of family therapy
• Family Retreat: 10-15 hours of family therapy
• Group Therapy: 15 sessions per week
• Ropes Course Therapy: 1 day per week
• Canine Therapy: everyday
• Displacement Therapy – Outdoor Adventures: 1 day per week fishing, rock climbing, rappelling, caving, canoeing, kayaking, or hiking.
• Outdoor Adventures Intensive Week: focuses on experientially learning the “how to” in the above activities.

2. Free Intensive Aftercare
• Weekly Phone sessions: for 3 months with resident’s Personal Therapist
• Two Family Reunion Weekends: 1st year
• One-Day Family Therapy Intensive: 3 months after discharge back-to-back with the Relapse Prevention Tune-Up Day for the graduate and his cluster mates (at Capstone).
• Email contact from Personal Therapist with graduate and parents: monthly for 2 years.
• Access to Alumni Page on web site
• Drug Testing Kit: One year supply of urine screens (2 x week) and breathalyzers
(2 x week) and stamped return result cards to be sent to Capstone (1 x 2 weeks)


3. Experiential Relapse Prevention
The goal is to educate residents about the nature of addiction/relapse by exposing them to emotional, sensory, and physical triggers in order for them to actually experience the personal responses that would lead them to relapse outside of treatment. This accomplishes two significant objectives; first it helps convince the resident that he has an addiction (if he does) and second, the resident learns to de-escalate his trigger level, a tool that is vital to relapse prevention. A comprehensive Relapse Prevention Game Plan is developed for each individual resident and included in his Aftercare Weekly Game Plan Booklet.
