![]() Rich O’Connell Rich is probably the busiest person in the daily functioning of Capstone. He is the teacher, a weight workout coach, the dog trainer, and a fishing guide. Rich spends much of his day involved with the residents. I have complete trust in the influence he is having on the boys during every minute of that time. His work has greatly improved each aspect of the program that he works with. He takes initiative to see whatever needs to be done here at Capstone and then goes about finding a way to make it happen. He is a great servant to others and you can often finding him doing things to help others on the staff. Rich O’Connell is one of the most multi-talented men that I’ve ever met. He is our teacher that is certified to teach biology, chemistry, physical science, and physics. (All of those courses that I either didn’t take or made low grades in.) Rich is also very smart in math. These skills have been very helpful to the boys in Capstone. However, that’s not the best stuff that Rich brings to Capstone. Rich loves the boys, loves the outdoors, and loves training labs. Rich married up when he married Andrea. She is certainly his better half and a wonderful woman. Rich and Andrea have three children Libby, Addie, and Benjamin. They are awesome people. Rich is in charge of our puppy training program. He wrote the ten-lesson protocol and coaches the boys in training their pups. Rich has a number of labs personally and they can do about anything you’d want a dog to do. Rich has worked hard to help the canine therapy program to be a success. Rich loves to fish, so when we go trout fishing, Rich is often one of the guides. Each time I get to go as well it is a great joy. I can’t say that his boat ever catches more than mine but you can’t have everything. Rich is an invaluable asset to Capstone.
His favorite scripture is Proverbs 16:9 “In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps.” |
