Jim Galyan, Psychotherapist
Licensed Associate Counselor / LAC
MS Marriage and Family Therapist
Celebrate Recovery Advanced Leadership Trained

I am so happy to the have Jim Galyan join our therapy staff. Jim has a lot of experience in working in the field of substance abuse, a great heart, a lot of talent, and a strong work ethic. He has really contributed to the strength of Capstone. Jim is now our oldest therapist, other than me of course. Jim was a graduate student of mine in marriage and family therapy so I taught, trained, and supervised him for two years. I have never had a student who would just dig for knowledge as hard as Jim did. He was hard headed on what he believed but was also open minded in testing his assumptions and learning something new. But he would always test what I was trying to teach. You probably know someone like him who does this kind of stuff because they are just an intellectual looking for more knowledge. Jim Galyan was always crystal clear about his motivation; to learn more about how to help people overcome in the battles they face, especially substance abuse.

He has been successful in business, academia, jail ministry, recovery groups, and especially in his family and personal growth. Jim is a humble man with a lot of strength. He brings an enthusiasm to Capstone that is contagious. I appreciate him personally and count on him already as a therapist and as a person who helps advise me in Capstone business decisions. Jim basically is a guy who does not ask “Can it be done?” but instead “How are we going to get it done?”

Jim has been married to Ashlie for more than twenty years and she is his better half. Their daughter, Larke, will graduate from high school next year.

Favorite Scripture:James 1:2-4 Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
