Bill Ford, Activities Staff
Aftercare Drug Testing and Monitoring
BS in Organizational Management

Bill FordSeveral years ago I got a call from an unknown person saying that he wanted to be a Wilderness guide for Capstone. Even though we were searching for people who would fill that position, we hadn’t started yet and I thought it strange that this young man would call me stating that he believed that he was being called to such a position.

A few years later, a young man by the name of Bill Ford became a night staff member, started being hired to do “fix-it” jobs at Capstone, and proved himself to be cut out of the same cloth that the rest of the Capstone team is cut from. We had a position open up in the administrative office so we invited Bill in for an interview. He was very qualified for the job and he had the heart for the mission so we hired him. Bill is responsible for the drug testing protocol part of the Aftercare program. The number one indicator that a family will be successful is their level of participation in the drug screening protocol in which Bill is liaison between Capstone and our graduates. He monitors their participation in doing the screens, sending the results back weekly for one year, and communicating the results to the Personal Therapist and the therapy team.

Bill was in the Air Force for five years, which was very valuable training for many things. Bill is a very organized and talented man. He does many jobs at Capstone and does them all well. In the midst of his “jobs” he loves the residents and connects in a very supportive way. He is one of the reasons that research on Capstone’s effectiveness says that relationship with staff members is our strongest suit. Bill is energetic and passionate about his work here at Capstone. His unique talents are helping Capstone be better at what we do.

After Bill had been in his position for several months, it came up in conversation that he was the young man who called me years ago. I just hadn’t remembered his name or the conversation until he reminded me. God works in mysterious ways and I sincerely believe that Bill was right in that phone call; he was called to be a wilderness guide at Capstone Treatment Center as well as many other roles.

Bill and his wife Lisa have four children; Noah, Micah, Norah Rose, and Anna. I am very glad that God led Bill to Capstone.

Bill’s favorite Scripture is Romans 5:10, “For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to him through the death of his Son, how much more, having been reconciled, shall we be saved through his life!”
